Robert Michel, PhD

Dr. Robert Michel serves as a Senior Clinical Scientist for Curtana Pharmaceuticals, bringing over 25 years of diverse pharmaceutical industry experience. Throughout his career, he has held senior roles at major pharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson and Novartis, while also supporting several emerging biotech companies. He has a long history of active participation in multifunctional teams across clinical development, drug safety, and medical affairs.

His therapeutic expertise is particularly deep in oncology-hematology, with extensive experience in glioblastoma (GBM). Dr. Michel has a proven track record of providing clinical science and medical monitor support to both big pharma and small biotech firms, managing the entire lifecycle of a clinical trial—from writing protocols and managing lead PIs to ensuring site commitment and working with regulators. He maintains strong relationships with US-based GBM Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and is highly effective in communicating complex topics across diverse groups. Dr. Michel has spent years mentoring pharmaceutical professionals and teaching core pharmacology concepts at the university level. He has in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and clinical trial design. He holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Tulane University School of Medicine.
